When a performer has given a particularly impressive performance, the tradition is to shout your approval at the curtain call as they take their bow. Since we cannot always perform together in the same room, we want to give you the chance to shout-out your appreciation for the performers who participate in our virtual recitals. Shouting “Bravo!” has become so common that most people don’t realize that it’s actually the masculine form of the Italian word for “Great!” or “Well done!” When complimenting those that identify as female, you would shout “Brava!” When complimenting a group of performers, you shout “Bravi” or “Bravi Tutti!”
